Find answers to some of these questions:

Learn whether there are 4 or 400 401k plans in your market before you print those marketing letters. This allows you to customize your letters to appropriately address the needs of your prospect as well as saving money.
Learn whether there are defined benefit plans that might be prospects for converting.
Learn if there are plans with less than 10 participants that filed a financial statement and may need your assistance.
Learn which plans have insurance policies as part of their plan assets.
Compare the fees paid for services rendered by outside sources.
There are many more questions and answers that will assist you in defining the type of market you want to prospect depending upon your needs. Pension Profile makes this process more efficient than reading a book and using a highlight marker.
Once you have determined the "market" you want to pursue for prospecting, Pension Profile provides several methods for implementing your efforts. Pension Profile will print three types or mailing label layouts and 9 x 4 envelopes using the names and address of the universe you want for marketing. The program creates an ascii.txt file with the appropriate information to allow for mail merging with any word processing program. Should you decide to pursue telemarketing efforts, the Pension Profile contact management portion can keep notes for every plan you contact and enter follow-up phone dates for future reference and retrieval. If none of these routines meet your needs there is an export function that will let you create generic file formats for use in other programs not mentioned here.
Perhaps you amass your own database information for marketing or internal research. Pension Profile information can be appended or imported into other database managers for internal research development. Some users have purchased Pension Profile to use as a screen in developing their own internal databases.
Pension Profile is a wealth of information and although it is a great source for specific information not everyone needs all the information all of the time. Some of our users screen for the prospects they want, import only the basic information into other contact management programs and once they start to develop a relationship with the prospect, go back to Pension Profile to get pertinent information concerning the prospective sponsor and plan.
To expand the flexibility of this data source, Pension Profile has a built in export function. The program allows the user to identify, group, or tag, fields and records for inclusion in an extraction. Several generic file formats make importing this material into other software programs a breeze. This data is easily accepted in several contact management programs like ACT, Telemagic, Brokers Helper, etc. The dbase files are useable by Excel, Access, FoxPro, and other spreadsheet programs. The text file formats make this data easily readable in almost any word processing program like, Word, Wordperfect, Notepad, Corel, Claris, just to name a few.
